Yes — you can update your artist name across all platforms by editing your release(s) in eMastered. From your dashboard, go to your release page and select “Edit Release.” You also have the option to change your artist name on all your releases in one go using a single edit request.

While it is possible, changing your artist name can sometimes cause unexpected complications. eMastered supports artists’ creative decisions, but it's important to fully understand the potential consequences of a name change. Reversing this change can be tricky, and it may lead to unintended results.
If your artist name has updated on all platforms except Apple Music, contact eMastered’s support team for help getting Apple to reflect the new name.
Important Guidelines for Changing Artist Names
You can only submit a name change for releases that are currently live. Streaming services don’t allow redelivered versions of the same release to contain different metadata. That means if your music was already sent out, any new version must use the same artist name and track titles.
If you previously deleted a release to rebrand, you’ll need to re-upload it with its original information, wait for it to go live, and then request a name change on that version.
Update your entire discography:
When you rebrand, every release should reflect your new artist name. If not, some platforms may hide or delist music that seems inconsistent. The best way to ensure consistency is by using the checkbox on the edit page that lets you update all your [Artist Name] releases in one step. This feature is currently only for artists with a single primary name (not collaborations).
Losing followers and monthly listeners:
Most streaming services don’t let you update an existing artist page. Instead, a new artist page will be created for your new name. Unfortunately, this means you’ll likely lose current followers and monthly listener counts — eMastered can't merge the data.
Play counts and playlist spots:
If you're simply changing metadata on an existing release without altering the ISRC, then playlist placements and play counts typically stay intact. That said, eMastered doesn’t control how services handle this, so there are no guarantees.
Delays in rebrand updates:
Even though submitting your rebrand is automated, the back-end processing by streaming platforms often involves manual review. It could take a couple of weeks for all stores to reflect your new name. Plan ahead if timing is important.
Mislabeling and incorrect artist mapping:
Sometimes, when a new artist's name is submitted, streaming services may accidentally map your content to a different artist with the same or a similar name. Feel free to email us if you think this has happened.
No instant undo option:
If you decide to switch back to your previous name, you’ll need to go through the name change process again. However, there’s no assurance that doing so will restore everything exactly as it was before.
