Before you opt your release into the Social Media Monetization release extra, you must ensure it qualifies for YouTube Content ID.

Any track that includes audio you didn’t create—such as beats, loops, samples, or sound effects from video games—cannot be accepted.

YouTube enforces strict rules, and for your release to be eligible, all of the following must apply:

All sounds were created by you.

Your release must exclude beats, loops, effects, or any sounds from public or commercial libraries, including free ones from GarageBand, Ableton, Logic, or Fruity Loops.

You will not authorize remixes or allow others to reuse elements of your songs.

Remixes uploaded to YouTube could cause Content ID mismatches.

The release is not a cover song.

The release does not include any material in the public domain.

The release does not contain audio from TV, film, video games, or other media sources.

The release does not use clips from other creators’ YouTube videos.

You alone are responsible for submitting this track to YouTube Content ID, and no bandmates or producers should try to do so.

You have not used another distributor such as TuneCore or Distrokid to deliver the same track to Content ID, since that would create conflicts.
