eMastered gives artists a way to earn royalties when their music is used on TikTok or other Bytedance platforms.
All songs sent to TikTok via eMastered’s upload form are automatically eligible for monetization through TikTok’s official audio library. However, to receive revenue from videos where your song is used as user-generated content (UGC), you must add the Social Media Monetization release extra.
Including your music in TikTok’s audio library allows creators to easily use your tracks within their videos.
If the original clip has no music and your song is added through the app, you’ll earn revenue from TikTok for its use. When a user uploads a video that already contains your music (not added through the TikTok library), it is considered UGC.
You won’t get paid for this use unless you’ve opted into the Social Media Monetization release extra, which allows TikTok to detect your music in UGC clips and route royalties to eMastered.
TikTok Audio Library Earnings
To get your song into TikTok’s audio library, just choose “TikTok & other Bytedance stores” in the eMastered upload form. If your track is already out, select “Add to more stores” in your dashboard. You don’t need the Social Media Pack to get listed in the library or receive payouts from it.
All revenue TikTok sends to eMastered from library usage is paid out to you in full and is viewable in your eMastered Bank Tab.
Monetizing UGC (User-Generated Content) UGC refers to TikTok videos where your music appears in the upload itself, not added using TikTok’s music tools.
These types of videos won’t generate revenue unless your track is enrolled in the Social Media Monetization release extra. When included, TikTok will scan for your music in UGC and share 80% of any revenue they report with you.
