If you’ve already acquired a cover license through another agency, you still need to purchase a license directly from eMastered for every cover song you upload.
This requirement exists because eMastered cannot verify that royalties are being correctly paid to the original songwriter unless it handles the payments itself.
If you skip eMastered’s licensing program for cover songs, your music may be removed by streaming platforms—or you could even face legal consequences from the original songwriter.
